Your responsibilities will include: Acquire, receive, organize, process, update, and maintain geospatial and operational datasets supporting DHS mission programs. Prepare datasets for upload, publication, visualization, analysis, sharing, archiving, and retrieval across ESRI Portal, ArcGIS Online, GII repositories, and other approved environments. Perform routine geoprocessing and spatial analysis, including data conversion, coordinate validation, field mapping, joins, selections, and overlays. Query and maintain archived geospatial information using accessible standards while supporting data backup, recovery, and records-retention activities. Apply established naming conventions, folder and repository structures, versioning practices, access restrictions, and data-handling procedures. Conduct quality assurance and quality control checks to verify data completeness, accuracy, consistency, currency, schema compliance, geometry, attribution, and usability. Document quality findings, corrections, assumptions, limitations, data lineage, and unresolved issues, escalating significant concerns when necessary. Create and maintain dataset, service, and database metadata in accordance with approved DHS geospatial methodologies, standards, and procedures. Support metadata design, repository maintenance, data dictionaries, field definitions, source descriptions, terms of use, points of contact, and update schedules. Configure symbology, labels, pop-ups, filters, fields, scales, legends, and other presentation settings to meet user and mission needs. Create and update ArcGIS Dashboards to communicate real-time information, key performance indicators, operational status, trends, and relevant context. Support Experience Builder applications and other ESRI web experiences by configuring maps, widgets, data sources, layouts, and user-facing content. Validate published GIS products to ensure accurate information, reliable performance, accessibility, security, and usability. Participate in stakeholder discussions and translate mapping, data, visualization, and reporting requirements into Jira stories, tasks, acceptance criteria, and data specifications. Execute manual and automated test cases for data workflows, maps, layers, dashboards, services, and geospatial applications, documenting results and defects. Support user acceptance, integration, regression, data-quality, and operational testing, verifying that corrections meet defined requirements. Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, reviews, and retrospectives, while keeping Jira tasks and blockers up to date. Use Confluence, GitLab, and other government-approved tools to maintain documentation, scripts, configurations, decisions, and project deliverables. Requirements The ideal candidate will bring extensive geospatial experience, strong technical knowledge of ESRI technologies, and the ability to manage data and deliver reliable GIS solutions in a structured, collaborative environment. Required qualifications include: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Geography, or a related field. At least 10 years of relevant professional, internship, academic, military, or project experience in GIS, geospatial analysis, cartography, data management, or location intelligence. Subject matter expertise with ESRI technologies, such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal, ArcGIS Online, web maps, hosted feature layers, and Dashboards, or comparable GIS platforms. Solid understanding of spatial data concepts, coordinate systems, projections, geocoding, vector and raster data, attributes, metadata, data quality, and fundamental spatial analysis. Experience working with common tabular, JSON, web-service, and geospatial data formats, including the ability to organize, validate, and maintain datasets systematically. Basic experience with Python, ArcGIS Notebooks, SQL, Arcade, or another scripting or query language used for data processing and GIS automation.
