About this role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead stormwater infrastructure projects as part of our Project Management Consultant (PMC) team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role, you will oversee complex stormwater management initiatives from conception through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities, analytical expertise, and a proven track record of managing large-scale infrastructure projects in dynamic environments.Direct and oversee all phases of stormwater management projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioningDevelop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets; monitor progress against established baselines and implement corrective actions as neededManage project teams, including engineers, contractors, and consultants; provide mentorship and ensure clear communication across all stakeholdersAnalyze project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize delays, cost overruns, and quality issuesAdminister contracts with vendors, contractors, and consultants; ensure compliance with terms and conditionsConduct regular site inspections and quality assurance reviews to verify adherence to specifications and regulatory requirementsPrepare and present detailed project reports, progress updates, and performance metrics to senior management and clientsCoordinate with government agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with local building codes and environmental standardsManage project budgets, track expenditures, and implement cost control measures to optimize resource allocationIdentify and resolve project issues promptly; escalate critical concerns to senior leadership when necessaryFoster collaborative relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success Minimum 15 years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior project management roleProven expertise in stormwater management, drainage systems, or related infrastructure projectsDemonstrated experience working as a Project Management Consultant (PMC) on large-scale municipal or infrastructure projectsStrong proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent)Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex, multi-faceted projectsExceptional organizational and time management abilitiesAdvanced knowledge of contract administration, procurement processes, and vendor managementStrong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and mentor diverse teamsProficiency in budget management, financial forecasting, and cost controlExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentPreferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent credentialPreferred: Prior experience with infrastructure projects in the UAE or Middle East regionPreferred: Familiarity with local Abu Dhabi building codes, regulations, and municipal requirements At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
