We partner closely with hardware, systems, and controls engineers to take novel designs from concept to flight-ready software. You will join an agile cross-functional team focused on high-reliability execution in mission-critical environments. YOUR MISSION As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will architect, implement, and validate firmware and low-level software for autonomous defense platforms. You will drive hardware-software integration and ensure system reliability and safety standards are met across multi-domain environments. WHAT YOU WILL DO AT STARK <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Architect and write high-performance C/C++ software and firmware for microcontroller and RTOS-based embedded systems.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Develop low-level device drivers, bus communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, Ethernet), and hardware abstraction layers.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Lead hardware-software integration, system bring-up, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing in laboratory and field environments.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Optimize software for low latency, memory constraints, and deterministic execution on embedded microcontrollers.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate with hardware, systems, and QA teams to design robust fault-handling and safety-critical fail-safe mechanisms.</li> </ul> WHAT YOU BRING TO THE MISSION <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development using C and C++.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Deep experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or VxWorks) and bare-metal programming.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Solid understanding of microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M/R), peripheral interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet), and hardware schematics.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Proficiency with debugging equipment (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, JTAG/SWD debuggers) and automated testing frameworks.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field.</li> </ul> NICE TO HAVE <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience with functional safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or DO-178C).</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Familiarity with Embedded Linux, ROS/ROS2, or Rust for embedded systems.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Prior experience in aerospace, robotics, defense, or automotive industries.</li> </ul> </div><div class="content-conclusion">If you're interested in building the future of European Defence with us, and you see yourself reflected on the description above, please send us your CV in English.
