Accountabilities: Administer semi-monthly payroll for Canadian and U.S. employees and monthly payroll processes for international locations. Serve as the primary contact for employee payroll inquiries, providing accurate and timely support. Maintain and update payroll, incentive, equity, and related employee records across applicable systems. Perform routine payroll and benefits reconciliations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Support the Payroll Manager with month-end processes, incentive calculations, stock option administration, and common share administration. Complete daily payroll accounting activities, including general ledger entries, stock compensation expense calculations, and fixed asset amortization. Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and cost analyses as part of the month-end close. Assist with payroll year-end activities, including tax form preparation, reconciliations, and balancing. Identify opportunities to improve payroll and accounting processes, workflows, and systems. Support annual audits and provide documentation and information required for compliance and financial reporting. Contribute to special finance and payroll projects as required. Requirements A few years of Canadian payroll experience; exposure to U.S. and international payroll is an advantage. Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related discipline. Hands-on corporate accounting experience, ideally within a multi-entity environment. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll systems; experience with Ceridian Dayforce is preferred. Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification or active progress toward the certification. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills. High attention to detail and a commitment to payroll accuracy and confidentiality. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees and stakeholders at different levels of an organization. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A proactive approach to identifying process improvements and resolving issues. Benefits 18-month full-time contract opportunity. Fully remote work arrangement within Canada.
