Accountabilities: Partner with the CIO and executive leadership to develop and execute a multi-year AI and intelligent automation strategy aligned with business priorities, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and investment plans. Establish and manage an enterprise portfolio covering generative AI, machine learning, AI agents, robotic process automation, workflow automation, process mining, intelligent document processing, and related opportunities. Create consistent frameworks for evaluating and prioritizing initiatives based on business value, risk, feasibility, data readiness, security, scalability, adoption requirements, and total cost of ownership. Identify manual, repetitive, error-prone, and information-intensive processes and redesign them before determining the appropriate automation approach. Establish transparent processes covering opportunity intake, assessment, prioritization, proof of concept, production deployment, support, continuous improvement, and retirement. Define business ownership, performance baselines, target outcomes, controls, adoption plans, and benefits measurement for approved initiatives. Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, support, and ongoing optimization of production AI and automation solutions. Determine when solutions should be built internally, configured on strategic platforms, or sourced from specialized technology and consulting partners. Establish standards for APIs, integrations, reusable components, prompt and model management, testing, observability, exception handling, documentation, change control, recovery, and service ownership. Manage delivery roadmaps, budgets, vendors, licenses, service levels, risks, dependencies, and benefits realization. Develop responsible AI governance, including risk classifications, approval authorities, AI-system inventories, human oversight, transparency, traceability, data provenance, auditability, access controls, and testing requirements. Partner with cybersecurity, legal, privacy, export compliance, quality, safety, and program-security teams to manage AI and automation risks involving sensitive, proprietary, personal, customer, technical, or regulated information. Define appropriate controls for applicable Canadian and U.S. defense, privacy, cybersecurity, export-control, and controlled-goods requirements. Establish architecture patterns for generative AI, machine learning, RPA, workflow automation, process mining, conversational assistants, and AI agents. Work with data teams to ensure solutions use governed, accurate, appropriately classified, authorized, and traceable data. Integrate automation securely with ERP/MRO, finance, supply chain, collaboration, document management, data, and IT service-management platforms. Identify and deliver automation opportunities across aviation MRO, maintenance planning, technical records, inventory, demand forecasting, procurement, finance, customer reporting, employee services, and IT operations. Ensure safety-critical, regulated, or consequential decisions retain appropriate qualified-person review and formal approval. Build AI literacy programs and role-specific responsible-use training for executives, managers, employees, developers, process owners, and solution approvers. Establish a network of business automation champions while maintaining centralized standards for architecture, security, risk, and lifecycle management. Lead change management through stakeholder engagement, communications, training, documentation, adoption measurement, and feedback loops. Build and lead a multidisciplinary capability spanning automation development, business analysis, AI engineering, solution architecture, product management, and change enablement. Manage technology vendors, consulting partners, and managed-service providers against defined outcomes, security obligations, service levels, and commercial expectations. Communicate portfolio progress, business value, operational risks, governance effectiveness, and investment requirements clearly to senior leadership. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, data science, business, or a related discipline; a graduate degree or relevant professional certification is an asset. 8+ years of progressive experience in digital transformation, intelligent automation, enterprise applications, data, analytics, or technology delivery, including at least 3 years leading AI or automation programs. Demonstrated experience taking AI, automation, or advanced analytics initiatives from discovery and proof of concept through secure, supported production deployment. Experience developing business cases, managing portfolios and budgets, leading cross-functional programs, and measuring realized financial and operational benefits. Experience in aerospace, defense, aviation, MRO, manufacturing, or another safety-critical, regulated, and asset-intensive industry is strongly preferred. Experience working across multiple countries, legal entities, or security domains, particularly Canada and the United States, is an asset. Strong knowledge of generative AI, machine learning, AI agents, robotic process automation, workflow automation, process mining, APIs, integrations, and intelligent document processing. Practical understanding of responsible AI, model risk, privacy, information security, data governance, human oversight, testing, monitoring, and third-party risk management. Experience with Microsoft technologies such as Azure AI, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Power Platform, Copilot Studio, and Power Automate is preferred. Experience with enterprise automation platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or comparable technologies is an asset. Understanding of ERP and MRO processes and platforms; experience with aviation or enterprise platforms such as Ramco Aviation is an advantage. Familiarity with frameworks and standards such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, ISO/IEC 42001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, secure software development practices, and relevant Canadian and U.S. defense-security obligations. Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances, controlled-goods eligibility, and customer or program authorizations. Strong business judgment and the ability to connect technology investments with operational readiness, safety, contract delivery, customer commitments, workforce capacity, and financial performance. Strong ability to translate operational challenges into practical technology solutions and communicate complex technical and risk considerations to non-technical stakeholders. Collaborative leadership skills, with the ability to influence executives, operational leaders, technical specialists, and frontline users. Demonstrated discipline in managing priorities, budgets, suppliers, dependencies, risks, delivery, and organizational change. Professional fluency in English is required; French and other languages used across international operations are considered assets.
