<p>Mr D is looking for a seasoned <strong>Head of Product</strong> to join its executive leadership team in Cape Town. This role will oversee the product teams responsible for the customer experience of Mr D on mobile apps and web. We like to promote from within: Here’s your chance. </li> </ul> <p><strong>This position reports to the Takealot Group CPO and Mr D CEO and will be responsible for managing a team of 10+ Product Managers who oversee the Mr D customer experience and various business-facing applications.</strong></p> <p>Your responsibilities will include:</p> <ul> <li>As a member of the executive leadership of Mr D, contribute towards defining key business strategies and related tactical objectives to deliver against set growth and profitability targets for Mr D.</li> <li>Play a meaningful leadership role across the Mr D product team to ensure ongoing alignment with the defined company values.</li> <li>Work with executives and stakeholders to translate defined business objectives into a product vision for a number of product verticals, making use of relevant internal and external data sources.</li> <li>Manage a team of product managers and designers responsible for delivering feature roadmaps for the Mr D customer-facing experience as well as the internal business-facing tools necessary for the day-to-day management of merchandising and marketing.</li> <li>Promote a mindset of customer-centricity and champion user interface improvements based on industry best practices.</li> <li>Drive workshops to ideate solutions for key business challenges and steer the execution of the solutions.</li> <li>Advocate for experiment-driven learning and empower the product and engineering teams to iterate and improve on a daily basis. </li> <li>Oversee the definition and tracking of KPIs that will inform decisions on product features and functionality.</li> <li>Facilitate the alignment of project delivery expectations with stakeholders and ensure reliable delivery against them. </li> <li>Define and evolve processes and ways of working to promote increased efficiency and output across product and engineering.</li> <li>Work with engineering leadership to ensure product and engineering teams are properly structured to achieve the desired business outcomes.</li> <li>Define hiring objectives to meet business goals and support recruitment efforts through the improvement of recruitment tools and processes.</li> <li>Establish a culture of product management excellence with constant feedback and mentorship to highlight improvement opportunities for product managers across the organisation.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Qualifications & Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>A Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in a relevant field </li> <li>10+ years of product management experience or relevant exposure (through projects or responsibilities). </li> <li>At least 3 years of experience managing a team (or teams). </li> <li>Proven track record of delivering business value through project delivery.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desired Attributes</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to wear multiple hats to guide product managers, UX experts, and engineering managers to deliver world-class products</li> <li>Proficient in working closely and collaboratively with multiple departments and executives and leading cross-functional teams.</li> <li>Exceptional communication and presentation skills and ability to articulate strategies in terms of impact on business metrics.</li> <li>Ability to take initiative in ambiguous situations, identifying critical problems and driving solutions</li> <li>Thorough knowledge of prevailing and emerging mobile and e-commerce trends and technologies</li> <li>Data-driven decision-making</li> <li>An avid customer advocate</li> <li>Exceptional planning and project management skills</li> <li>An appreciation for best practices and innovation in product design, user experience, and team management.</li> <li>A self-starter who works efficiently </li> </ul> <p><strong>Like what you see?
