The Senior Professional shall have a technical/engineering related university degree with not less than Ten (10) years’ experience in the required field of expertise for similar projects We are looking for an experienced QA/QC Engineer to join a major rail infrastructure programme in the UAE. As a Senior Professional in the project management team, you will oversee quality assurance and quality control across design, construction, and testing and commissioning, making sure all works meet contract requirements, specifications and applicable standards. The role involves close coordination with contractors, designers and the client. It suits a candidate who can hold contractors to account while supporting timely delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and approve contractor quality documents, including Project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements and quality proceduresMonitor contractor compliance with the approved quality management system, contract specifications and relevant international standardsPlan and carry out quality audits and surveillance of contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and track corrective actions to close-outWitness and verify inspections, tests and hold/witness points on site and at factory acceptance tests (FAT)Review material and equipment submittals, test certificates and conformance documentationRaise, track and close non-conformance reports (NCRs), and analyse root causes to prevent recurrenceOversee quality records, including inspection requests, test results and as-built documentation, making sure they are complete and traceable for handoverSupport testing and commissioning activities, and verify that quality documentation is complete for system acceptancePrepare periodic quality reports and KPIs for project management and the clientLead quality coordination meetings and promote a quality-focused culture among all project stakeholdersMinimum RequirementsTechnical or engineering university degreeAt least 10 years' experience in QA/QC on similar projectsStrong working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and quality audit practiceProven experience reviewing ITPs, method statements and material submittals, and managing NCRsExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishDesirableQA/QC experience on rail or metro projects (civils, track, or railway systems such as signalling, power and communications)Experience in a PMC, consultant or client-side roleMiddle East experience, particularly in the UAEISO 9001 Lead Auditor certificationFamiliarity with rail standards such as EN 50126/50128/50129 (RAMS) and with FIDIC contractsExperience with testing and commissioning and system handover on major infrastructure projects Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or a related Engineering disciplineProfessional certification or membership (e.g. CQI/IRCA, ASQ) is an advantageAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
