We're looking for a hands-on Assistant Butchery Manager to support daily operations, lead and develop the team, drive sales, control stock and shrinkage, and maintain the highest standards of product quality, merchandising, hygiene, and customer experience in a fast-paced environmentMinimum RequirementsMinimum 2 years’ supervisory experiencePrevious experience in a Butchery and Fish departmentKnowledge of meat cuts, carcass breakdown, and production processesUnderstanding of food safety and hygiene standardsStrong leadership and teamwork skillsGood operational and organisational abilityStrong attention to quality and hygiene standardsProblem-solving and decision-making capabilityAbility to work in cold and wet conditionsThe roles will be placed in the following areas, Polokwane, Midwaters and Hazeldean.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Stock ControlAssist with the day-to-day management of the Butchery and Fish departmentsSupport stock ordering, receiving, merchandising, and product availabilityMonitor stock levels and assist in reducing shrinkage and wastageEnsure attractive product displays and merchandising standardsProduction & Technical ExecutionPrepare and break meat carcasses and produce quality value-added productsOperate butchery equipment safely and efficientlyMaintain product quality and production standardsEnsure cold chain compliance and proper handling proceduresHygiene & Food SafetyMaintain strict hygiene, housekeeping, and food safety standardsEnsure all equipment and work areas remain clean and compliantFollow health and safety procedures at all timesTeam Leadership & Customer ServiceSupervise, motivate, and support team membersAssist with staff training and performance managementDeliver outstanding customer service and expert product knowledgeBuild a culture of teamwork, urgency, and operational excellenceIf you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!Discover who we are
